North Carolina, I never knew ya….

I’m getting ready for Heroes con next weekend and the last weekend of June is Wizard World Chicago! I’ll have some art, prints, t-shirts, comics and sketches for sale!! Please come by, say hello.

I also wanted to show you the t-shirt I designed for Wade’s Comic Madness of President Bush as a skrull!!!

this also comes in a green shirt as well :D The sizes are from Small to 3XL.

I also have a KOI PAINTING & a ZOE WASHBURNE DRAWING for sale on eBay, check it out:

That is it for now. I’ll have a big announcement during San-Diego Comic-con which I’m not attending but either way I’m excited. Otherwise, keep on rocking people!

A whole lotta ‘THANKS!’

I wanted to update here and let people know that I appreciate all the support I received from everyone regarding the passing of my father. I want to add that this is a long journey and it’s far from over, but I’m on the right path to healing and coping.

I will always miss him and I will always appreciate that he instilled such humor in me; I can laugh about almost anything — and I’ll always remember that as long as I can laugh, life is still good, and I do laugh constantly. Even through the hard times.

I will be returning to YND soon, and until then, please look for my sketch cards from Upperdeck for Heroes, LOTR and Marvel Masterpiece which should all be circulating now. I finished up the 2008 Marvel ones too, so they’re on their way out as well, I think. Mike Oeming and I sold a mini-series to a great publisher so please keep an eye out for the announcement in the near future!

Other than that, life in NJ is great. I’ve found the beauty that is water ice / italian ice and I just got my NJ license plates today — AND passed the inspection so I’m completely and utterly a New Jersean now!!! :D

Thanks again, everyone for the support. I will be at Heroes con in a couple of weeks in NC. Please come by and say hi, get a sketch or prints!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

To NJ, and back to MN.

YND is still up in the air as of this writing due to a tragic death of my father a week after moving to NJ. I am back in MN right now trying to put the pieces back together.

I am not sure when I will return to doing the weekly strip but I hope that when I do, I haven’t lost too many readers… so keep checking back, please.

My father was a good man and I will miss him tremendously. I have no idea how I can go on and feel a sense of worth that he’s cemented for me but I am sure that he’d want me to find a way and to find happiness — that was one of the last things he said to me at least… be happy.

Taki’s Big Move

I’m moving to the East Coast next month, leaving behind this big tundra of a state called Minnesota. I just don’t find it quite appealing when I have to wear two pairs of pants, five layers, gloves, hat, boots, electric blanket and a Taun Taun hide.

I’m also moving because of these pages sent to me earlier this year:

:D Anyway, I have been busy working on some Upperdeck sketchcards of Marvel Masterpieces, Heroes and LOTR. Marvel ones are now circulating and have gotten some emails about them already! Thanks folks and keep them coming.

Thank you to all of you who’s supported me and followed my work. Please don’t forget to read ‘you’ll never die..’ webcomic in the ‘comic’ section of this website.

Dallas was a t.v. show, right?

The year is quickly coming to an end. As challenging and hard as it was the previous year, 2007 has been kind to me and I am almost sad to see it come to an end soon. But I am hopeful and looking forward to another year of art, love, life and change.

Thank you all for all of your support so far, and I wanted to announce my last comic book convention for 2007; Wizard World Dallas. If you’re attending, please come by, say hello and all the fun stuff we normally do during the convention.

I just recently finished up some sketch cards for Upperdeck Marvel series and Heroes (television series) as well, I am anxiously awaiting for someone to open a pack and find a sketch card of mine and email me about it — please email me at takisoma at gmail dot com

Well, that’s it for now. I am quite tired from going to the Bishop Allen concert last night with the most awesome person I know, Michael Oeming.

Alright, keep up the comic reading and I’ll see you all in Dallas I hope!!!!

So it’s almost fall… as in Fallcon

The ever vigilant, generous, fun and exciting local comic book con, Fallcon has now gotten even better! This year marks the first time fallcon guest, Michael Avon Oeming who is most notably known for his art and co-creation of Powers. Yay :)

Please stop by and say hello to yours truly too.I will be there with a smile and some art for sale.

Mark this on your calendars people, it’ll take place on Oct. 6th and 7th at the MN state fair ground in St. Paul. See you there! And bring your friends.

Dragon*Con

holy crap, I’m going to Dragon*con http://www.dragoncon.org/ for the first time and the list of guests are amazing!!! I don’t even have a table yet and I don’t know if I will, but I’m excited to go regardless; Let’s HOPE I get one because I’m going to draw the hell out of Juliet Landau, Adam Baldwin and James Marsters because they’re going to be there!!! wooo.

Anyway, yay for Atlanta and see you there.

check out my tail!

is it me, or does it smell like Chicago?

well, this will be my 9th consecutive year at the most amazing Wizard World Chicago http://www.wizarduniverse.com/conventions/chicago.cfm in August. I will be at the Artist Alley area (table #3708A) with fellow friends/creators like Zach Miller http://www.joeandmonkey.com/ and such. He’ll have J&M year 3 book at this show, and from what I’ve seen, it looks alright… well, quite dumpy really… nah. it looks freakin’ amazing as always.

I will of course have original pages of YND, portraiture drawings/paintings, prints, and sketches for sale. C’mon by, say hello and get some art for your bare walls ;P

I also did get a job at ‘Lee’s Gallery’ at the Mall of America so you should come on by and get a sketch done there too. I work there part-time so I don’t really have a ‘good’ time for you to come look for a sketch from me, but I work with other amazing portraiture artists that you can get a live sketch from too. Seriously, it’s fun to get one done.

Also I need to lighten up my portfolio. I am looking to unload some original work on ebay and such but if you have a heart set on a piece you saw in the gallery or something, let me know at takisoma @ gmail.com — we can work a price out.

That is all for right now! Thanks for reading and happy summer to you all. It’s been hot, humid and sunny. Take away the humidity and it’s my favorite kind of weather :) and we all know we can’t always have what we want anyway right?

Beautiful San Diego, California

No, I haven’t been there yet this year but I will be at the San Diego Comic Con next week from Friday to Sunday just lurking about.

If you spot me there, please refrain from chucking rotten food at me. If it’s candy (and not rotten), I’ll try and catch it with my mouth like dogs do with a Frisbee. Otherwise, say hi. I’m nice. Really.

It also seems like I’ll be working part time at ‘Lee’s Gallery’ at the Mall of America doing portraiture drawings for them very soon. If you’re a local, or visiting the most coveted vacation spot in the United States, try and stop by. Get a portraiture done!
